Since ancient times (the pre-Roman era), this area had been overruled by several tribes. The country had been involved in World War I due to which its economy was ruined. According to the constitution of November 10, 1920 a parliamentary democracy was established in the country. German armies attacked and occupied the country on March 12, 1938 and Hitler declared Austria as a territory of Germany.Austria is situated in central Europe and much of its territory contains mountains. Around forty percent of the area is covered by woodlands and forests. There are several snowfields, snowcapped cliffs and glaciers in the country. Its main river is Danube. The country has very well grown and much developed economy. Native people enjoy very high standard of life. The economy of the country has very close connections with other European markets particularly of Germany. The entire economy is strengthened by a great service industry, a brilliant industrial sector and a small sized but greatly developed agricultural domain.Vienna
