Slovakia Webcams

The Slovak Republic became an independent territory after being dominated by its mother state, Czechoslovakia, until 1993. The population of the country is estimated at around 5 million. Lying in the central region of the continent, Slovakia is surrounded by Czech Republic, Austria, Poland, Ukraine and Hungary. Slovak is the official language of the country. Bratislava is the capital and the largest city, followed by Kosice. Slovakia has a very advanced highly earning economy and is also one of the fastest growing countries in Europe as well. On the basis of climate, Slovakia can be divided into four distinct regions. However, the annual average temperature in the region remains in the range of 10 to 20 degrees Celsius. Services and industrial sectors are the backbones of the Slovak economy. The main industries employed are car manufacturing and assemblage as well as electrical engineering companies. Many architectural sites and resorts attract a good number of tourists and hence do a fair job in promoting the local culture and tourism.
