It became the part of United States on August 1st, 1876, as the 38th state of the country. 3/5 of its area is represented by mountainous regions, with the highest mountain being Mt. Elbert. The rest of the territory is pretty flat. Its bordering states are Nebraska, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Kansas, Utah, Arizona and Wyoming.It is the leading state of the country, producing scientific and medical instruments of the finest quality. Agriculture and mining also contribute a lot in terms of revenue generation for the state. It is also known as 'The Silver State' because of the huge quantities of silver that have been extracted from the mines of the state.It is known as the paradise of the skiers, same as Switzerland, due to the beauty of nature.
