Rhode Island Webcams

Rhode Island was the very first British colony in the American continent. It became a sovereign state in May 4, 1776. It got admitted to the Union (United States of America) on May 29, 1790. Providence is the capital city of the state. It is the smallest state of the country. It is just 37 miles wide and 48 miles long but it has the longest official name "State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations". To attract the tourists it was given the official nickname of "The Ocean State". Though it is a very small state, it is highly industrialized due to which it is densely inhabited. The Sakonnet River is the only river of the state. Massachusetts is located on its northern and eastern borders. It shares a water boundary on its south with the Atlantic Ocean as well. The state of Connecticut is situated on its western border.Rohde Island is one of the leading states in jewelry manufacturing as well. Other important manufactured goods are lighting fixtures and electrical equipments.
