The first thing you notice is the amount of accessories the unit has. You are provided with several ways of attaching your camera (up to 8 oz.) to the Pod, with a couple of accessories the unit has: one with a standard photography screw and one with rubber bands (included) to fix your camera to it. There's also a couple of screws to adjust height and stability and a 8-foot USB cable to connect your Pod to the PC. The pod is made basically of plastic pieces, thus it's not recommended for outdoor usage.

The unit comes with a multilingual QuickStart guide (English, French, Spanish). Initial set up is as easy as having the software CD and the Windows CD handy, plug the USB pod to the PC and then install the software.

Once you start the installed software, you'll notice TrackerPod comes to life instantly, panning and tilting to its default, horizontal position. A set of nice arrow and centered LEDs will indicate you either the unit is doing a pan or a tilt movement (or BOTH!): panning is the side to side movement of a camera, while tilt is the up and down movement. The system is capable of both motions SIMULTANEOUSLY!

You will find TrackerPod indispensable for positioning your camera: you can center subjects in the picture just by clicking on them or pan and tilt anywhere by pressing arrow keys or by clicking the 'Home Button' and dragging your mouse around. Although the hardware has some slight limitations (it will neither zoom nor focus your camera) and pan/tilt degrees could go a bit higher, you get a great pan/tilt solution at a totally affordable price.
